Congress “Impact and perspectives of the Document on Human Fraternity”

From February 4 to 7, 2024, a Congress organized by Pluriel with the support of the Anawati Chair will be held in Abu Dhabi, to examine in depth the impact and perspectives of the Document on Human Fraternity, signed five years ago by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmad al-Tayyib.
The central theme of the congress is the impact of the Document on Human Fraternity on coexistence between Christians and Muslims around the world, and the prospects for the future. The main objective is to assess the reception of this document on its fifth anniversary, and to explore the transformations needed to promote universal human brotherhood in the social, political and theological spheres.
Scholarship opportunities
The Anawati Chair is awarding several scholarships to enable students or young teachers from Egypt, the Maghreb and the Middle East to take part in the Congress (under 35 years of age).
The scholarship covers transportation, registration, accommodation and catering costs for the duration of the Congress.
Registration conditions
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- have at least a Master’s degree (or be enrolled in a Master’s program Or enrolled in the final year of university)
- have an interest in and commitment to inter-religious or inter-civilizational dialogue
- commit to reporting via social networks on the experience and exchanges that will take place during the Congress
- undertake, on their return from the Congress, to join with other young people from the same geographical area to form a Cercle de la fraternité, dedicated to encounters between believers of different faiths
- under 35 years of age
Participation fee: 50 euros
Registration period: Deadline Extended to December 9th, 2023 from October 10 to November 30, 2023
Results: Awards will be confirmed in December.
