Mateus Domingues da Silva is Brazilian and lives in Cairo. He is the Head Librarian of IDEO’s library since May 2021.
PhD in Arabic studies, Mateus works on the Islamic intellectual history, and, more precisely, on Metaphysics in Arabic and Islamic philosophy. His area of interest is the reception of Avicenna’s metaphysics among some philosophers in the 6/12ᵗʰ and 7/13ᵗʰ centuries. His main research focuses on Suhrawardī al-Maqtūl (d. 587/1191).
